WHY I BECAME A CELEBRANT

It is one of Queensland's most prestigious wedding venues. The sky is clear blue with no cloud in sight. Not too hot with a gentle breeze. The top of the range prestige cars arrive with the stunning bridal party, proudly sporting their elegant attire purchased in Europe. The guests are a crowd to be proud of "Beautifully dressed in their Wedding Best" as they say!

With rings exchanged the guests are sailed into the sunset on a lovely cruiser only to arrive at the exclusive 5 star reception for a top class gourmet meal. Meanwhile, the bridal party are coached through their photo shoot by their exclusive photographer whom they reserved 12 months in advance.

Both bridal party and guests re-unite for a wonderful evening of fine dining, world class wines, hilarious speeches and great company full of wedding cheer.

But then, with a loosened tongue, one guest asks the others on their table "Are they actually married"? We've been treated to all the trimmings but what happened to the CEREMONY"? The table of guests chorused in agreement that the ceremony had been dull and conducted by the Celebrant in a "get it over with" type fashion. The celebrant’s voice had been flat and expressionless and could barely be heard.

YES I was a guest at that table and that was the day I decided to become a Celebrant, the day I decided that the ceremony I perform will STAY WITH YOU A LIFETIME.
